Welcome to my greenhouse dinner!
This sure has been a long time coming. Over a year and a half ago we purchased our greenhouse. It had always been something I have dreamed about and to be honest – I’m still having many *pinch me* moments when I see it in our backyard.
You guys may remember I have been trying to have things once a month to look forward to. It has been so good for my mental health especially during the last few winter months and when human connection the last few years has been lacking.
10/10 recommend planning even the simplest of things to look forward to.
I have always had this vision in my head about a dinner in there, and with the delayed summer and cold temperatures the timing worked out great! It was so nice and cozy, we even lit candles to give it a nice welcoming feel.
I invited a few girlfriends over to enjoy it. Many of us have been friends since Elementary school, high school and college. We have been in each other’s weddings, birth rooms and walked through the journey of motherhood and life together. I am so grateful God put these amazing women in my life.
My girlfriend Adrienne of The Bouquet Farm came early and helped me to bring everything together with her beautiful vintage roses and some of her potted plants + herbs.
She even grabbed me some babies breath and re-created a pinterest photo I have been coveting for years using some gold wire.
I knew I didn’t want to make an elaborate dinner and felt have felt inspired lately to do a charcuterie style dinner. I got each of the girls to bring their favourite wine + cheese and I picked up all the other fixings when I went across the line to Trader Joe’s. I didn’t really know what I was doing but basically just layered everything and it came together so easily and everyone was stuffed to the brim.
Steve had this random scrap piece of wood and it worked perfectly.
I even added some desert things to it as the night went on.
I also picked up a few specialty, non-alcoholic spritzers in lavender and elderflower. I put a few edible flowers to each cup and or a sprig of lavender and thyme.
Extra bin at the bottom of the table to fill some spaces and to store the extra things
I used my Fable Home table ware that I’m obsessed with. I have their dinner plates, etc in Dove grey and I love that they are a local, canadian based company with sustainability and quality on the forefront of it all.
We gathered until the sun set and there’s nothing I love more than spending time with those I love.
Connection + Authenticity.
I’ll hold this night close to my heart forever <3
